Jinnar Counters 2026: Best Counter Picks & Builds
Jinnar
Heroes That Counter Jinnar
items that counter Jinnar
A defensive item that’s mandatory for core heroes or fighters to counter Jinnar. The enormous fake armor and magic resist from Medallion of Troy will help you survive the terrifying wide-area magic damage from his ultimate.
An excellent choice for all-in Tank/Fighter heroes. It both provides high magic resist and has a passive that restores HP when taking damage, helping you be much more stubborn when having to stand in Jinnar’s damage vortex.
Jinnar often carries Gems, magic-lifesteal items, or uses Skill 1
Battering Beads
to be able to sustain and last longer in full team fights. Build healing-reduction items right away to cut off his survivability.
Same effect as the Tome of the Reaper but for physical-damage heroes.

Keep a safe distance: Jinnar’s Skill 1
Battering Beads
can bounce between multiple targets. Always avoid standing close to your own minion waves to avoid being poked for free by the bouncing orbs.
Bait out his ultimate: Jinnar’s power and durability depend up to 90% on his ultimate
Nirvana
. Proactively push up to fake a skill trade to force him to use his ultimate, then immediately retreat using dash skills or Flicker.
Counterattack once he’s out of skills: Right as Jinnar’s ultimate vortex ends, he loses a large amount of movement speed and his damage-immunity effect. This is when he’s weakest and easiest to eliminate, so immediately charge in and unload damage to finish him off.
How to Counter Jinnar in Combat
Spread your formation when Jinnar dives in: Jinnar’s ultimate
Nirvana
deals wide-area damage and grants him bonus damage reduction based on the number of enemy heroes standing around him. When you see him charging in, the whole team should immediately split up and spread out in multiple directions to minimize the effectiveness of his ultimate.
Save hard crowd control on standby: Don’t rush to unload all your crowd-control skills (stuns, launches) onto the enemy tank line. Agree to always save one or two hard crowd-control skills to “welcome” him right as Jinnar closes in on your backline.
Take advantage of separation skills: Strong knockback skills (like Annette’s, Lumburr’s) need to be cast very accurately to push Jinnar out of the center of the fight, turning him into a runaway tank with no brakes but unable to harm anyone.
Tips for Countering Jinnar
Strengths to Watch Out For
- Extremely strong all-in team-fighting: His ultimate gives Jinnar everything to open a fight: super-fast movement speed, continuous wide-area damage, and especially an enormous amount of damage reduction that makes him extremely tanky.
- Annoying poking: His bouncing Skill 1 helps him clear minions very fast and poke the enemy formation extremely safely before a big team fight.
- Good healing: The HP restored from gems and items combined with wide-area damage lets Jinnar dramatically turn the tables if the opponent has no healing-reduction items.
Weaknesses to Exploit
- Very afraid of hard crowd control: Like most all-in heroes, Jinnar is extremely afraid of being locked in place. Getting hit with hard crowd control while his ultimate is active will completely waste his strongest skill.
- Limited range: Except for Skill 1, Jinnar’s main damage output requires him to run up and close in on his target. This creates a golden opportunity for long-reach poking heroes or marksmen to kite him to death.
- 100% reliant on his ultimate: Without his ultimate, Jinnar moves clunkily, has short skill range, poor durability, and is very fragile. Focus on picking him off alone when he’s out of his ultimate.
