Heroes That Counter Edras
Heroes that counter Edras’ God Form include: Marja, Florentino, Charlotte, Paine, Nakroth, Grakk — these heroes can quickly close in and destroy him.
Heroes that counter Edras’ Ghost Form include: Marja, Aleister, Hayate, Violet, Arum — these heroes have hard crowd control or can kite
Edras
from range extremely effectively.
Heroes That Counter Edras' God Form
Marja might be the only hero who can counter both of Edras’ forms. Although Edras’ God Form can keep his distance, the damage he can deal isn’t enough pressure for Marja — if he still wants to play it out, hugging the turret is his only option.
Although Florentino is a melee hero, he has excellent gap-closing ability, which is very well suited to countering the long range of Edras’ God Form. On top of that, Flo continuously heals from his skills, making him quite sturdy — he can fully dive the turret if Edras plays it safe by hugging it.
Charlotte also has extremely fast gap-closing ability, along with continuous poke and strong healing, which will make things fairly hard for Edras’ God Form.
Paine hard counters Edras’ God Form, since this hero’s gap-closing is so fast and sudden that Edras can’t react in time. Edras’ damage is huge but his defense is very poor, so he evaporates extremely easily once Paine closes in.
Nakroth’s mobility is so overwhelming that Edras simply can’t play against him — his God Form kit is fairly slow, so both attacking and escaping from Nak becomes truly miserable.
The most important thing when playing Edras’ God Form is keeping his distance and using skills from range, and that gets severely restricted when he runs into a Grakk who’s always waiting to hook him back for his team to finish off.
Heroes That Counter Edras' Ghost Form
Marja is extremely effective against Edras’ Ghost Form thanks to how slippery she is. Edras can barely even touch her, and the harder he tries to close in, the more damage gets drained from him — and running away is hard too, so overall it’s incredibly frustrating for him.
Aleister is truly a hard counter to Edras’ Ghost Form — his 1st skill
Desire to Devour
grants crowd control immunity, but it has no effect against hard suppression, so Edras basically has no chance when he runs into Aleister.
Violet has a long reach, the ability to roll and keep her distance, and fairly strong burst damage once she’s fully itemized — all of these are factors that are very well-suited to shutting down Edras’ melee power.
Hayate can dash repeatedly to keep his distance and prevent Edras from closing in, along with painful poke from true damage. You can even play Hayate top lane to shut down Edras’ lane from the very start of the game if your team already has enough tankiness.
Arum also has hard suppression like Aleister, which is exactly what Edras’ Ghost Form fears the most, since his 1st skill
Desire to Devour
can’t grant immunity against it — if he dives into a fight and eats Arum’s ultimate to the face, he might as well give up right there.
Items That Counter Edras
Sonic Boots are an essential item to reduce the physical damage from both of Edras’ forms.
Frozen Legacy can both reduce damage and slow attack speed and movement speed, which will significantly weaken Edras’ power.
Sufferance Plate is very well-suited as an item to counter Edras — this hero is characterized by huge damage but weak defense, so reflecting damage back at him is highly effective.
Soul Curse of Death will counter the extremely strong healing from both of Edras’ forms, significantly reducing his power.
Soul Reaper’s Tome works similarly to Soul Curse of Death, but for mage-type heroes.
Close in and burst damage: Edras’ God Form’s strength mainly lies in keeping his distance and healing over time, so once you engage, commit fully and burst him down decisively.
Use crowd control carefully: His 1st skill
Radiant Divine Step
and 3rd skill
Holy Radiance Destruction
both grant crowd control immunity while channeling, so be mindful of this.
Watch out for burst damage: Edras’ God Form kit deals enormous damage, so calculate carefully, even when he’s low on HP.
Watch his 1st skill: Use crowd control while Edras’ 1st skill
Desire to Devour
is on cooldown to avoid having it nullified.
Always keep your distance: Edras’ Ghost Form is extremely strong at melee range, so it’s best to kite him from afar.
Watch out for your turret: if you’re away from lane for even a short time, Edras’ Ghost Form can completely destroy the turret very quickly, so be extremely careful.
