How to Play Aleister

To Combo Aleister Effectively, Remember:

  • Aim and time Skill 1 Magic Barrier carefully to corner or cut off enemy heroes, putting them in a tough spot, since the stun and slow from Skill 1 are extremely annoying.
  • In team fights, use Magic Barrier to block the enemy assassin, protect your own core damage dealer, and corner multiple enemy heroes so you can land Skill 2 Matrix of Woe on several targets.
  • Take advantage of Skill 2’s Matrix of Woe wide range to farm minions fast, deal damage to multiple enemy heroes, and corner opponents.
  • Combine Skill 2 Matrix of Woe with Skill 1 Magic Barrier well to create a corner-and-burst combo that leaves the enemy team unable to attack or escape.
  • Use Skill 3 Magic Prison for hard crowd control, to interrupt skills, and to pin an enemy hero in place while Skill 2 Matrix of Woe deals damage.
  • In team fights, always save Skill 3 Magic Prison for the enemy’s core damage dealer.
  • Watch Aleister ‘s positioning when using his ultimate to avoid getting crowd-controlled and losing the cast.

Aleister ‘s combo isn’t too complicated — you just need to pay attention to your skill placement and keep a good distance to kite effectively, which is enough to cause extreme frustration and shut down the enemy’s core damage dealer.

How to Play Aleister in the Early Game

Level up and use Skill 2 Matrix of Woe to farm minions quickly, continuously pushing the lane to create space for you to gank other lanes.

If your lane is comfortable, build Hermes' Select to swap lanes and gank repeatedly to create an advantage for your team. If you’re being pressured in lane, use Skill 1 Magic Barrier to block minions and farm with skill 2 Hermes' Select to avoid losing your turret too early.

How to Play Aleister in the Mid Game

After Aleister reaches level 4 and unlocks Skill 3 Magic Prison , focus on swapping lanes to gank.

Avoid going alone since this hero’s kit doesn’t deal quite enough damage to kill enemy heroes solo at this stage — instead, group up for fights with your allies and look for a chance to land Skill 3 Magic Prison on the enemy’s most dangerous hero to secure the win.

Gank and team fight as much as possible to gain an advantage and snowball over the enemy team.

How to Play Aleister in the Late Game

If Aleister successfully ganked a lot in the mid game, the match should already be heavily tilted in your team’s favor by late game, and victory should come easily.

But even if your team is behind, don’t worry — late game is a phase where a single small mistake from the enemy team is enough for you to win, and Aleister has Magic Prison , a skill that can turn the tide of the entire match.

In this phase, hold your position well, keep Magic Prison and ready, and circle around like a tiger stalking its prey, waiting for the enemy’s core damage dealer to make a mistake before diving in with your ultimate. Just one or two kills on their core damage dealer is usually enough to secure victory for your team.
