Charlotte Item Build
Notes on Charlotte's Item Build

Gilded Greaves
instead of
Flashy Boots
. - If you’re top lane against overly strong physical damage heroes and can’t farm, build
Sonic Boots
instead of
Flashy Boots

How to Combo
Charlotte
.
Single combo: Use any skills 3 times to get 3 passive
Splash Gradation
charges + basic attack to trigger “Seven Star Sword Formation”.
Double combo: Use any skills 5 times to get 5 passive
Splash Gradation
charges + basic attack to trigger “Seven Star Sword Formation” — you’ll have 2 charges left + use any skill for 1 more charge + basic attack to trigger “Seven Star Sword Formation” a 2nd time.
How to Use Charlotte's Skills Effectively
Passive
Splash Gradation
:
- After casting any skill, your next skill becomes empowered (an empowered skill changes from blue to green) and reduces the enemy’s attack speed, so pick the right skill to empower for the situation.
- Land any skill on minions or enemy heroes 3 times, then basic attack to trigger “Seven Star Sword Formation,” which deals huge damage, slows and reduces the enemy’s attack speed, and grants you damage immunity.
- Always watch the passive charge counter shown on your support spell icon to know when you can use “Seven Star Sword Formation,” since this is
Charlotte
‘s main source of power.
Skill 1
Tri-Slash
:
- Take advantage of this skill’s long range to poke, farm minions from a distance, and stack passive
Splash Gradation
charges. - Use its self-speed-boost and enemy slow (when empowered by the passive) to chase enemy heroes or escape a fight.
Skill 2
Splash Fount
:
- Use this skill’s dash to chase down an enemy or escape.
- If facing a mobile enemy, remember to use another skill first to empower Skill 2, reducing its cooldown so you can dash twice in a row to counter them.
- When low on health, use this skill repeatedly to heal, letting you hold your lane extremely well without having to retreat to base.
Skill 3
Power Gradation
:
- Time it for when the enemy hero is about to use crowd control or burst you down, then use this skill for crowd-control immunity and reduced damage taken.
- Stack 3 passive
Splash Gradation
charges, then use the empowered Skill 3 to launch the enemy hero and basic attack for massive damage.
How to Play Charlotte in the Early Game
In the early game, if you’re playing jungle, take the blue buff first since the cooldown reduction makes
Charlotte
much stronger and clears the jungle faster.
Once you finish your jungle route, you can gank if the enemy pushes too far, or secure Dragon/Caesar early for an advantage.
If you’re top lane against squishy matchups, play proactively — poke continuously with Skill 1
Tri-Slash
then close in with Skill 2
Splash Fount
to finish them off.
If facing tanky, high-sustain matchups like
Veres
or
Florentino
…, play safe, trade skills, and use Skill 2
Splash Fount
to heal and hold your lane.
How to Play Charlotte in the Mid Game
In the mid game, once you have a few items,
Charlotte
becomes extremely strong with big damage, crowd control, healing, and high mobility thanks to the repeated healing from Skill 2
Splash Fount
.
So the playstyle in this phase is to play aggressively, ganking continuously as well as joining small skirmishes or contesting objectives.
Charlotte
can also split push a turret to force the enemy team to split up to defend; if only one enemy hero shows up, confidently duel and take them down — sometimes you can even take on two. If the enemy comes as a group, just use Skill 1
Tri-Slash
to slow them and Skill 2
Splash Fount
to cross a wall and escape.
How to Play Charlotte in the Late Game
By the late game,
Charlotte
‘s damage isn’t as outstanding anymore, but it’s not weak either, and to make up for it, this hero is fairly tanky with crowd-control and damage immunity.
The playstyle in this phase is to still split push when you get the chance, but don’t forget full team fights.
If your team has no tank, open the fight yourself using Skill 3
Power Gradation
and
Voidsteel Blade
for crowd-control and damage immunity, then stick to the enemy’s core damage dealer to create an opening for your allies to unload their skills and end the fight.
