Heroes That Counter Alice
Items to counter Alice
Alice’s kit revolves almost entirely around CC: the stun from
Sunshine
, and the slow and 1-second silence from
Hissy Fit
. Gilded Greaves grant 35% resistance, shortening the duration of all those CC effects, plus 60 movement speed to step out of the energy zone faster. These are the boots to pick for carries that Alice tends to target.
All of Alice’s damage is magic damage, from the burst of
Sunshine
to the ticks every 0.5 seconds of
Hissy Fit
. Medallion of Troy grants up to 112 magic defense scaling with level, and its Protection passive creates a barrier that absorbs 460 – 1300 magic damage whenever you leave combat, making it a great pick if Alice builds magic items and pokes a lot in lane.
The Unbind active cleanses all CC effects on yourself and nearby allies and grants 0.5 seconds of CC immunity, with a 90-second cooldown. When Alice lands
Sunshine
on multiple targets or your whole team gets silenced in
Hissy Fit
, your support hitting Unbind frees the whole group at once. Its Primal Force passive also boosts both armor and magic defense for nearby allies.
How to counter Alice in the laning phase
Don’t stand next to your marksman:
Sunshine
stuns every enemy it hits, so when you and your marksman stand close together, a single cast from
Alice
can lock down both of you. Spread out a bit so she can only pick one target.
Trade while skill 1 is on cooldown: Without her stun, Alice can barely apply any pressure. As soon as she misses
Sunshine
or wastes it on minions, step up and trade, since her passive
Trot
only gives her 1 second of extra movement speed to run.
Check bushes before pushing: Alice likes to wait in bushes for someone to walk by before casting. Place a ward or have your support go first to check, and never let your marksman lead the way.
Wait for the shield to break:
Friendship
grants Alice’s allies a shield and movement speed. When the enemy marksman has just been shielded, back off for a moment before using your main skills so you don’t waste damage on the shield.
How to counter Alice in teamfights
Spread out before the energy zone:
Hissy Fit
deals magic damage every 0.5 seconds and slows every victim inside, and anyone who walks into it is also silenced for 1 second. Fight in open areas and don’t clump up, so a single zone can’t catch the whole team.
Don’t walk through the zone: The silence hits whoever steps into the energy zone. Unless you have to, go around it or wait for it to expire instead of charging straight through, especially on heroes that rely on skills to escape.
Focus Alice first: She’s squishy and has no dash. Assassins like
Aoi
or
Murad
should flank around and hit Alice first, right after she’s used up her skills.
Save your cleanse for the stun:
Chaugnar
should hold
Chaos Protection
, and supports with
Terra Unbind
should save its active, so they can use it right after Alice lands her skills on your carry.
Tips for Countering Alice
Strengths to Watch Out For
- Skill 1
Sunshine
stuns every enemy hit, great for initiating teamfights. - Her ultimate
Hissy Fit
controls a whole area with a slow and a 1-second silence. - Skill 2
Friendship
grants allies both a shield and movement speed, saving carries when they get caught. - Her passive
Trot
grants extra movement speed after each skill cast.
Weaknesses to Exploit
- No dash or CC immunity, only a brief movement speed boost from her passive.
- Low HP, easily dived and taken down by assassins.
- Her impact relies on stuns and silences, and drops sharply against heroes with CC immunity or cleanse.
- Miss skill 1 and she has almost no way to apply pressure until it comes off cooldown.
