Yorn Counters 2026: Best Counter Picks & Builds

Yorn is a pure stand-and-shoot Dragon lane marksman. Skill 1 Explosive Arrow fires an explosive arrow at a target area that slows and reveals, skill 2 Heart Shot fires an empowered arrow that lights up its flight path and deals bonus magic damage based on missing HP to the first hero hit, and his ultimate Heavenly Arrow creates an arrow rain zone that continuously bombards enemies inside. After each skill or every 5 basic attacks, Yorn triggers his passive Endless Arrows , firing 7 arrows forward, each volley dealing physical damage plus true damage based on the target’s max HP. His weaknesses are obvious: no dash, no CC immunity, low HP, and most of his damage comes from basic attacks. Heart Shot also reveals Yorn himself whenever it hits. Long-range lane bullies, hooks and diving assassins are what he fears most. Yorn’s counters include Elsu, Brunhilda, Stuart in the Dragon lane, Grakk at support, Aoi, Wukong in the jungle and Yue in the mid lane.

Elsu

Yorn has no dash, so pretty much the only way to dodge each Snipe from Elsu is by walking. Snipe is charged for 2 seconds to boost range and accuracy, dealing physical damage and slowing the first hero hit, enough to whittle Yorn down before he can get close. When Yorn pushes up, Disengage rolls back, fires a slowing shot, then grants movement speed for 2 seconds. The passive Stalk lets Elsu camouflage and gain speed after staying out of combat for 5 seconds near walls, creating surprise shooting angles that Yorn can hardly predict.

Brunhilda

Brunhilda has an artillery zone that a walk-only marksman like Yorn struggles to escape in time. Siege Cannon grants Brunhilda bonus armor and magic defense and fires up to 7 times at enemies in the center of the area; Yorn has no dash, so he usually takes several hits before getting out. Homing Mine slows and reduces the armor of enemy heroes it touches while giving Brunhilda a shield, making it even harder for Yorn to run. Watch out for Explosive Arrow , which slows and reveals you, making it hard to pull out of artillery mode when pressured, so activate it right after Yorn has used Explosive Arrow; Overdrive cancels artillery mode and grants movement speed if you need to retreat.

Stuart

Most of Yorn ‘s damage is physical: basic attacks, Explosive Arrow , Heavenly Arrow , and the passive Endless Arrows . Stuart activates Blood Shadow Eye to become immune to physical damage and gain movement speed, making Yorn’s volleys nearly useless during that window; only the missing-HP magic damage from Heart Shot and the max-HP true damage from his passive still hurt. Destructive Blast dashes forward to slow and deal damage, and Yorn has no dash to create distance. Death Missile pierces every target in its path, letting you poke through minion waves during the laning phase.

Yorn can only move on foot, so Devil's Chain from Grakk is a constant threat: the hook drags Yorn straight in front of Grakk, away from his teammates’ protection. At close range, Earthquake deals double damage, heavily slows, and silences for 0.5 seconds, so Yorn can’t use Explosive Arrow to slow you in return. If your team needs more time, World Devourer continuously stuns and pulls in enemies in front for 3 seconds. Devil’s Chain’s passive also grants 125 HP each time Grakk gets a kill or assist, up to 20 times, making you tankier and tankier.

Aoi

Aoi exploits Yorn ‘s biggest weakness: he has no escape. Dragon Claw lets Aoi launch her claw at terrain to charge or take flight, and she’s immune to crowd control while doing so, so the slow from Explosive Arrow can’t stop her engage. Dragon's Wrath lets Aoi leap into the air, untargetable, then plant her claw to slow and deal missing-HP damage over a large area. Dragon Slash heals when it hits enemies, helping you withstand a few of Yorn’s basic attacks. Avoid charging straight at him while Heart Shot is still available, as that arrow deals bonus damage based on missing HP.

Wukong

Once Wukong gets close, Yorn has almost nothing to defend himself with. Shadow Clone grants instant stealth and bonus movement speed, letting Wukong circle behind the enemy formation to catch Yorn. Keep in mind that Explosive Arrow can reveal its victim, so it’s best to strike right after Yorn has just used it. Monkey Business stuns everything around you and locks him in place, while the passive God Of War turns the attack after each skill into a gap-closing strike with built-in critical chance. Great Sage increases armor and magic defense for a while, enough to tank a few arrows while you take down the marksman.

Yue

Yorn has no dash to dodge Yue ‘s jade blades. When Cleave the Realm and Sever Heaven and Earth intersect right where Yorn is standing and shooting, he takes double damage, and at 2 stacks of Sovereignty , Yue refreshes both skills for another round. When Yorn is busy unloading Heavenly Arrow on your team, he usually stands still, which is the easiest time to land the intersection. Sovereign's Path knocks back enemies in front and lets Yue leap backward, useful when enemy assassins or fighters dive in to protect Yorn.
