How to Play Wukong

How to Combo Wukong

Basic Wukong combo:

  1. Use Skill 2 Great Sage to close in and basic attack for damage.
  2. Activate Skill 1 Shadow Clone combined with basic attacks.
  3. Use Skill 3 Monkey Business once to stun the enemy, then basic attack.
  4. Activate Skill 3 Monkey Business a 2nd time to go stealth and pull back.

At close range, you can also start the combo with Skill 1 Shadow Clone .

Note: when using the empowered basic attack from passive God Of War , release the movement key for a smoother dash.

How to Use Wukong's Skills Effectively

Passive God Of War :

  • Note: after every skill cast, your next basic attack dashes a short distance and lunges at the target (can cross terrain), so use this to attack the enemy from a fair distance.
  • When calculating damage to secure a kill, factor in this hero’s base crit chance and the bonus damage after each skill cast.

Skill 1 Shadow Clone :

  • Use this skill to go stealth and move faster to quietly close in on the enemy or escape

Skill 2 Great Sage :

  • Use its terrain-crossing dash to close in on the enemy or escape.
  • When attacked, use this skill for bonus armor and magic resistance for better durability.

Skill 3 Monkey Business :

  • Use this skill in the middle of your combo for damage and a brief stun, making your combo chain smoother.
  • Take advantage of its area damage to hit multiple targets at once.
  • Activate the skill a 2nd time to break free of a slow then go stealth to keep sticking to the enemy or retreat from a fight.

How to Play Wukong in the Early Game

In the early game, if you’re playing Wukong jungle, start with the blue buff first since this hero’s kit consumes quite a lot of energy.

If you’re laning, hold a backward position, focus on farming minions to reach level 4, and avoid fighting much, since the monkey is very weak early on.

How to Play Wukong in the Mid Game

By the mid game, your job is to gank nonstop, constantly watching the minimap to spot enemies wandering alone or pushing too far, then moving in for the kill.

Prioritize attacking squishy targets first to secure a kill in a single combo, then get out of the fight. Keep hiding in bushes, going stealth to deal damage, then stealthing again to retreat, making you impossible to pin down.

Play as proactively as possible to apply massive pressure on the enemy team to end the match early, since a prolonged match doesn’t favor Wukong

How to Play Wukong in the Late Game

By the late game, Wukong ‘s impact drops off since this is when full team fights happen, and this hero isn’t strong in large-scale fights.

So take advantage of your mobility to split push, clearing minions on every lane to force the enemy to split up to defend.

When you see them split up, look for a chance to pick off their core damage dealer, or quickly take advantage of the opening to secure Dragon and Caesar for major buffs, greatly increasing your win chances.

If you have to fight, patiently wait for the enemy’s core damage dealer to expose themselves, then quickly dive in to take them down — diving in too early is very dangerous.
