Heroes That Counter Krixi

Krixi is a mid-lane mage with a simple but wide-reaching kit. Skill 1 Mischief Mischief sends out a butterfly illusion that flies out and returns, dealing magic damage on both passes; skill 2 Nature's Wrath Nature's Wrath knocks enemies airborne and deals magic damage, and is also her only crowd control; her ultimate Moonfall Moonfall calls down a meteor shower for 5 seconds, with each enemy taking up to 4 hits, and Krixi gains movement speed while using it. Her passive Flutter Flutter grants a brief burst of movement speed whenever a skill hits. The weaknesses of Krixi Krixi are no dash, no CC immunity, and almost everything depending on landing skillshots; miss Nature’s Wrath and she loses her only self-defense tool. The best counters to Krixi Krixi are Zata, Lauriel in the mid lane, Bijan in the Dark Slayer Lane, Butterfly, Wukong in the jungle, Enzo as support and Violet in the Abyssal Dragon Lane.

Items to Counter Krixi

Medallion of Troy

Krixi deals only magic damage, most of it from poking with Mischief Mischief before fights. Medallion of Troy answers with a shield that regenerates whenever you leave combat, absorbing 460 – 1300 magic damage, plus magic defense that scales with level to soften the blow when Moonfall Moonfall rains down.

Gaia's Standard

Each time you’re hit, Gaia’s Standard triggers regeneration equal to 5% max HP over 2 seconds (10-second interval), and the effect grows stronger the lower your HP: every 10% HP lost adds another 5%. Moonfall lasts 5 seconds and hits each person up to 4 times, so this regeneration passive helps you survive the ultimate instead of having to back off.

Gilded Greaves

With 35% resistance, all crowd control on you is shortened. The knock-up from Nature's Wrath Nature's Wrath is Krixi’s only way to keep targets inside Moonfall, so being held for less time means fewer meteors hitting you. The extra 60 movement speed helps you close in fast right after she misses a skill.

How to Counter Krixi in 1v1

Dodge Nature’s Wrath first: Nature's Wrath Nature's Wrath is Krixi’s only CC skill; if it misses, she has no way to hold you or defend herself for a while. Move sideways when you see her about to cast, then step in and trade right after.

Stand behind minions when poked: Mischief Mischief deals damage on the way out and on the way back, but each unit hit reduces damage to the following units, down to as low as 50%. Keep a line of minions between you and Krixi so the butterfly gets partly blocked.

Close in when she’s out of skills: Krixi has no dash; her movement speed only spikes briefly when a skill hits thanks to Flutter Flutter . The moment she’s used up her skills is when Butterfly Butterfly or Wukong Wukong should jump in to finish her.

How to counter Krixi in team fights

Spread out before Moonfall: Moonfall Moonfall rains down on nearby enemies for 5 seconds, hitting each one up to 4 times. Stay spread out so the damage doesn’t stack up on the whole team.

Run toward allies with CC: Krixi gains movement speed when using her ultimate, so she’ll chase whoever she’s targeting. Lure her into range of an ally holding CC instead of running alone.

Save CC for when she steps in: Moonfall only hits nearby enemies, so Krixi has to move forward to deal damage. Save Enzo’s Judgment Judgment or Bijan’s Desert Beast Desert Beast for exactly that moment.

Take her down before she can cast: Krixi has no CC immunity, so one stun or knock-up before the fight is enough for an assassin to finish her.

Tips for Countering Krixi

Strengths to Watch Out For

  • Mischief deals damage twice, on the way out and on the way back, great for poking.
  • Nature’s Wrath knocks up and deals magic damage, good for both initiating and self-defense.
  • Moonfall deals area damage over 5 seconds and grants movement speed on cast.
  • The passive Flutter grants movement speed whenever a skill hits.

Weaknesses to Exploit

  • No dash at all, very vulnerable to assassins diving in.
  • Only one CC in Nature’s Wrath; miss it and she’s almost defenseless.
  • No CC immunity or cleanse.
  • Mischief deals less damage when passing through multiple units, easily blocked by minions.
  • Has to move in close for Moonfall to hit targets.
