Zip Gameplay Guide

How to Combo Zip

Zip combo while chasing the opponent:

  • Throw Skill 1 Zip Hex to stun the enemy.
  • Aim toward your teammate, then click and immediately release Skill 2 Zip Angry to grant your team a shield.
  • If the target can still run, use Skill 2 Zip Angry to swallow your teammate and activate Skill 3 Zip Roll to chase the enemy.

Zip combo when ganked or attacked by dangerous enemy skills:

  • Channel Skill 2 Zip Angry to swallow your teammate into your belly to protect them.
  • Once the enemy is out of skills, reactivate Skill 2 Zip Angry to release your teammate to attack the enemy.
  • If you feel you can’t win the trade, don’t release your teammate — instead activate Skill 3 Zip Roll to carry everyone away to safety.

Zip combo for wave manipulation and backdooring:

  • Use Skill 2 Zip Angry to suck up minions and activate Skill 3 Zip Roll to roll toward the enemy tower to push the lane faster.
  • When your own minion wave is pushing up, use Skill 2 Zip Angry to suck them up and move away, or use Skill 3 Zip Roll to roll back toward your base so the enemy can’t farm the wave.
  • Once the enemy has lost all the towers on a lane, take advantage of a moment when the enemy team isn’t paying attention to quickly use Skill 2 Zip Angry to suck up your whole team and roll Skill 3 Zip Roll straight to the enemy base to backdoor.

Note: during the backdoor combo, don’t let the enemy find out about the plan too early, and you can also use Flicker to roll across terrain and increase your chances of success.

How to Use Zip's Skills Effectively

Passive Zip Bloat :

Skill 1 Zip Hex :

  • Use the stun at important moments, such as when the enemy closes in to attack or when they’re casting an important skill of their own.
  • Try to use this skill when an enemy hero is standing near another target to create a bond that stuns them both, so if you or a teammate attacks either target, they’ll both take damage.

Skill 2 Zip Angry :

  • While channeling Skill 2, use the movement key to face your teammate to swallow them into your belly, then reactivate to release them.
  • Use this skill to protect a teammate from dangerous situations, for example a hero being locked down by Aleister , Arum , or to quickly bring the whole team to key locations on the enemy side.
  • While channeling, Zip is immune to crowd control, so take advantage of that to dive in and dodge important enemy control skills.

Skill 3 Zip Roll :

  • Pick your roll direction carefully from the start, since you can’t actively change direction afterward (hitting terrain will automatically change your direction) — reactivate the skill to stop rolling immediately.
  • You can combine it with Flicker to cross terrain or change your rolling direction.

How to Play Zip in the Early Game

Entering the match, keep an eye on whether the enemy jungler goes to the blue or red buff first, then move there and use Skill 1 Zip Hex to bond the buff monster to the enemy hero.

This makes the enemy jungler take damage from you, from the buff monster, and even from themselves as they attack the buff monster — basically taking damage from every source, which is extremely frustrating for the opponent.

Once done, head back to the dragon lane to protect your marksman while they farm.

How to Play Zip in the Mid Game

By the mid game, keep staying by your ADC’s side to protect them while they farm gold for items, or if that hero is strong enough to hold the lane alone, rotate to other lanes to support teammates in fights, push lanes, and attack major objectives.

At this stage, you can also perform wave-manipulation combos with Skill 2 Zip Angry to create advantages in towers and gold, and also create openings to secure Dragon and Caesar buffs for your team.

How to Play Zip in the Late Game

By the late game, adapt your playstyle to the situation. If there’s an opening, you can use Skill 2 Zip Angry to manipulate minions and split-push a side tower, but when you see a full team fight about to break out, quickly return to regroup with your team.

In fights, focus on protecting your main carry and be ready to swallow them up when the enemy focuses damage on them, then depending on the situation, use Skill 3 Zip Roll to pull your teammate back to safety or push forward to chase down the enemy.

Also, when you see an opportunity where the enemy team isn’t paying attention or is busy attacking major objectives, quickly coordinate with your team to execute the backdoor plan described in detail in the combo section, to end the match quickly.
