Quillen
Introduction to Quillen
▼Quillen is an Assassin who plays Jungle in Arena of Valor, known for going invisible and ambushing enemies from behind. Every attack and skill Quillen lands from behind an enemy is a guaranteed critical hit, while attacks from the front can never crit.
That makes his ultimate, Assassinate, the heart of his kit: he rolls, turns invisible for a few seconds, gains movement speed and heals. Decimate dashes in and marks an enemy; every hit on that target slows it and lowers the skill's cooldown. On top of that, a kill or assist on an enemy hero resets all of his cooldowns, letting him chain straight into the next target.
In exchange, low health, very limited crowd control and very high difficulty mean Quillen needs to choose targets carefully and practice getting behind opponents. This article introduces the item build, Arcana, Enchantments, summoner spells, combos, skill usage and how to play Quillen through each phase.

How to Play Quillen in the Early Game
At the start of the match, you should begin with the Red Buff first, since
Quillen
doesn’t use any energy to cast skills.
Always attack from behind jungle monsters or minions, and use Skill 2
Decimate
to dash through jungle camps so you farm as fast as possible.
Once you’re ahead of the enemy in level and items, gank constantly or invade and steal the enemy jungle, because
Quillen
has massive damage plus an extremely annoying stealth ability. However, during the first 4 minutes of the match, invading the enemy jungle will get you followed by the Guardian Spirit Bird, which reveals your position and reduces your damage dealt by 10%, so consider prioritizing ganks over jungle invasions during this phase.
How to Play Quillen in the Mid Game
The mid game is when
Quillen
is at his strongest, so play very proactively.
Gank continuously, pick off stragglers, split push turrets, steal jungle camps… to make the most of this hero’s mobile, stealthy kit combined with massive damage.
Prioritize hunting low-mobility, squishy heroes like the enemy mid laner or marksman, both to secure easy kills and slow their power progression toward the late game.
Also don’t forget to secure Dragon and Caesar when there’s a chance, since
Quillen
‘s crit chance takes these objectives down very fast.
How to Play Quillen in the Late Game
By the late game, you can split push and pick off stray enemy heroes, but don’t forget to track your allies’ positions so you can join full team fights with them.
When a fight starts, don’t dive in right away — patiently wait for a low-health enemy hero, then dive in to secure the kill or assist, triggering Skill 3’s
Assassinate
passive to refresh all your skills so you can keep diving in.
Also skillfully use your ultimate
Assassinate
to go stealth and dodge enemy skills, then circle around to attack again, leaving the enemy confused and unable to track you.
