Qi
Introduction to Qi
▼Qi is a Fighter in Arena of Valor who specializes in the Top Lane. Qi fights with close-range palm strikes, combining dashes that knock enemies airborne with empowered basic attacks that heal her mid-fight.
Whenever a skill hits an enemy, her passive, Guardian Qi, makes her next two basic attacks faster, stronger and able to heal, so her rhythm is all about weaving skills between basic attacks. Star-Chasing Palm dashes forward and knocks foes airborne, while Heaven-Shaking Palm unleashes rapid blows that shred armor. Her ultimate, Vast Palm, knocks enemies back, stunning them and dealing extra damage if they slam into terrain, after which Qi can dash once more.
Her health and damage are average, her crowd control is only moderate and her difficulty is medium: use walls and terrain to get the most out of her ultimate. How to Combo Qi
How to Use Qi's Skills Effectively
How to Play Qi in the Early Game
Qi
is a fighter with powerful damage and high mobility, but her weakness is needing to close in on the enemy to land her decisive hits and open fights.
So in the early game, focus on farming minions and leveling up your skills to stack gold and experience, building a solid foundation for later fights.
If you’re in a dangerous situation or low on health, you can use the Skill 1
Star-Chasing Palm
combo then basic attack a monster to heal, followed by Skill 2
Heaven-Shaking Palm
and another basic attack to heal enough to hold your lane.
How to Play Qi in the Mid Game
Once you have your basic items and a gold advantage,
Qi
can rotate lanes to help allies or gank.
In a fight, use Skill 1
Star-Chasing Palm
to close in on your opponent, then use Skill 2
Heaven-Shaking Palm
for damage and to heal the necessary amount. Qi’s ultimate
Vast Palm
can be used to open fights, knock back the enemy, and create an opportunity for your allies to charge in.
Take advantage of
Qi
‘s explosive potential in fights to create an advantage for your team, especially when you can pick off a weak opponent or catch them off guard in an important fight.
How to Play Qi in the Late Game
By the late game,
Qi
‘s power drops off somewhat since enemy heroes now have more items and power. However, you can still unlock her very effective explosive engage ability.
When a fight breaks out, you need to hide and wait for the right moment to dive in. If you take advantage of the opportunity well,
Qi
can still turn the tide of the match with a surprise engage and heavy damage on important targets.
Use Skill 1
Star-Chasing Palm
to infiltrate the enemy formation, use your ultimate
Vast Palm
to deal damage and stun the enemy’s core damage dealer, then continuously use Skill 2
Heaven-Shaking Palm
and basic attack to finish off the target.
