Introduction to Arduin

Arduin is a tanky fighter hero in Arena of Valor. He can flexibly play Top Lane, Support, or even Jungle, and is always a reliable shield for his allies.

Notes on Arduin's Item Build

  • If the enemy hero has strong healing, replace Frost Cape with Curse of Death after your boots to counter it.
  • If the enemy team has a lot of strong magic damage, build instead of Mail of Pain .
  • Only play Arduin full damage if your mechanical skill is clearly better than your opponent’s — otherwise it’s very risky.
  • You can also play Arduin jungle by going full damage, buying Soulreaver first, and skipping Claves Sancti .

How to Play Arduin

How to Play Arduin in the Early Game

In the early game, Arduin is a tank hero and lacks damage, so focus on farming minions, and use Skill 1 Bloodlust with its wide range and launch effect to harass and deny the enemy from farming minions.

If the enemy mid laner pushes hard, push your lane fast then roam out to gank — you can also harass the enemy jungle since Skill 1 Bloodlust has an extremely annoying wide-area launch.

But be careful not to wander too deep into enemy territory, since Arduin has no mobility skill to escape with.

How to Play Arduin in the Mid Game

By the mid game, Arduin ‘s job is to be a shield for your team’s core damage dealer and crowd-control the enemy’s core damage dealer.

Follow your team’s core damage dealer during this phase to protect and support your allies in fights, as well as tank damage while securing objectives like turrets, Dragon, or Abyssal Dragon.

When moving around, you can use Skill 1 Bloodlust to check bushes, or Skill 3 Undying Protector to dive into a fight or escape using its terrain-crossing ability.

How to Play Arduin in the Late Game

The late game isn’t much different from the mid game for Arduin — follow your allies into team fights.

There are 2 main playstyles in team fights for Arduin :

  1. If the enemy team has a lot of assassins and your core damage dealer is easy to kill, stand in front and cover them with your crowd-control skills.
  2. If your core damage dealer holds position well and already has a life-saving item like Blade of Eternity , use Skill 3 Undying Protector to close in and harass the enemy’s core damage dealer, denying them the chance to deal damage.

Depending on the situation you’ll handle things differently, but remember that playing Arduin means sticking with your team.
