Wisp Gameplay Guide

How to Use Wisp's Skills Effectively

Passive Ignite :

  • Keep landing basic attacks or use Skill 3 Shock and Awe on targets that are crowd-controlled, such as slowed or stunned, to deal extra magic damage.

Skill 1 Loose Cannon :

  • Use the terrain-crossing dash when you need to chase down an enemy or escape a dangerous situation.
  • After dashing, your basic attack turns into a cannon shot that deals splash damage with longer range, so take advantage of that to burst damage or kite the enemy from a distance.
  • The first enhanced shot after dashing creates a minefield that slows and reveals stealthed enemies, so pay attention to where you use this shot.

Skill 2 Barrel Bomb :

  • Use this skill to stun the enemy, helping you kite and burst damage better.
  • Take advantage of the splash damage to clear minions fast, check bushes, or contest objectives.

Skill 3 Shock and Awe :

  • The ultimate deals a huge amount of damage in a wide area, so use it to unload damage in fights or zone targets extremely effectively.
  • You can move or use another skill while channeling the ultimate without worrying about being interrupted.
  • If in range, stand still and attack while the ultimate is still active, since its damage will be increased by 20%.

How to Play Wisp in the Early Game

Entering the match, Wisp is fairly strong compared to other marksmen, so besides farming, you can also actively trade skills with the enemy to create a lane advantage.

Use the bonus range gained when activating Skill 1 Loose Cannon to attack the enemy from a distance while keeping them from reaching you.

When the enemy comes down to gank, unleash Skill 2 Barrel Bomb to stun plus Skill 1 Loose Cannon to dash back, then turn around and fire the enhanced shot to trigger a minefield that slows and damages any target stepping on it — this is also a combo you can use to clear minions fast.

How to Play Wisp in the Mid Game

By the mid game, with just a few basic items, Wisp is already very strong without needing to wait until late game, so play actively to push lanes and create openings, then rotate to join fights, push towers, and attack objectives with your team.

Play in a kiting style, standing at a distance and firing cannon volleys from Skill 1 Loose Cannon toward the enemy.

When you see targets clustering close together, quickly activate the ultimate Shock and Awe to deal massive multi-target damage — you should also use this skill to zone the enemy or contest Dragon and Caesar extremely effectively.

How to Play Wisp in the Late Game

By the late game, Wisp is still a hero with a huge influence on full team fights thanks to their wide-area damage kit.

Always move with your teammates and hold a safe position poking the enemy from range, and when a good opportunity arises, use Skill 3 Shock and Awe to bombard the enemy formation.

You can also use the ultimate Shock and Awe depending on the situation to zone and cut off the enemy team’s retreat, or block their advance, creating an opening for your teammates to unleash damage.
