How to Play D'arcy
How to Combo D'arcy
- Step 1: Weave basic attacks with Skill 1
Dimensional Walk
to close in, stack passive charge, and slow the target. - Step 2: Cast Skill 3
Dimensional Portal
to mark the target, wait 2 seconds for the pull-and-stun effect to trigger (this also refills your passive charge). - Step 3: The moment your passive is full, use Skill 2
Dimensional Cube
or the empowered basic attack from Skill 1 to burst them down for the kill.
Note: Skill 2’s
Dimensional Cube
cooldown is now longer than before, so don’t unload it too early — save it for the finishing blow right after locking the enemy down with Skill 3
Dimensional Portal
.
How to Use D'arcy's Skills Effectively
Passive
Dimensional Force
:
- Basic attacks and skills that land on a target both stack charges for
D'Arcy
‘s passive; once the bar is full, you regen energy, empower your next basic attack, and gain a brief speed boost. - Weave basic attacks with your skills in fights to keep the passive charge flowing, instead of just spamming skills like before.
Skill 1
Dimensional Walk
:
- This skill now leans more toward speed and an empowered basic attack rather than pure skill damage (its raw damage was slightly reduced in exchange for the basic-attack power).
- After using Skill 1, your next basic attack deals extra magic damage and slows the target almost completely — use this to pick off stragglers or finish a kill.
- When cast with a full passive charge, Skill 1 grants much higher movement speed and crowd-control immunity, great for diving in or escaping danger.
Skill 2
Dimensional Cube
:
- The skill’s damage and center-area damage have been increased, but its cooldown is also longer than before — don’t spam it constantly, and think carefully about when to use it to optimize your fights.
- Every target hit by Skill 2 also grants a passive charge, so prioritize landing it on multiple targets in a full team fight to both deal damage and speed up your passive charge.
Skill 3
Dimensional Portal
:
- Skill 3 slows and marks the target first; after 2 seconds it forcibly pulls the target in and stuns them, while also fully refilling your passive charge.
- Since there’s a 2-second delay between the mark and the actual crowd control, time your cast before a fight breaks out rather than when the enemy is already alert.
- Right after Skill 3 refills your passive, take advantage of the empowered effect from Skill 1 or Skill 2 to maximize your damage in the fight.
How to Play D'arcy in the Early Game
At the start of the match, if you’re playing
D'Arcy
mid, play safe since this hero is fairly weak compared to other mages in the early game.
Use Skill 2
Dimensional Cube
to clear minions from a distance, and if ganked, immediately activate Skill 1
Dimensional Walk
for crowd-control immunity and a speed boost to retreat.
You should also stack enough passive charge to empower Skill 1
Dimensional Walk
for healing to hold your lane.
If you’re playing
D'Arcy
jungle, start with the blue buff and clear your full jungle route to reach level 4 as soon as possible.
How to Play D'arcy in the Mid Game
The mid game is when
D'Arcy
is at his strongest, so proactively rotate lanes to gank continuously as well as ping your allies to secure major objectives like Dragon and Caesar.
Use your skills the way aov-builds shared above in the combo section to pick off enemy heroes extremely effectively.
How to Play D'arcy in the Late Game
By the late game,
D'Arcy
‘s impact drops off since the opponent likely already has magic resistance items, so play more carefully.
Keep a good distance and spam Skill 2
Dimensional Cube
into the middle of the enemy formation for damage, then try to land Skill 3
Dimensional Portal
on the enemy’s core damage dealer and burst them down.
Watch whether the enemy team has crowd-control cleanse available before diving in, or you might get killed instead.
